My story is rooted in the real challenges facing our communities. Growing up in a household where every dollar counted, I watched my mom build a small restaurant from the ground up - and with it, I witnessed first-hand the hard work, stress, and resilience it takes to forge a life as a single parent. That experience taught me the value of perseverance and the critical importance of supporting our local economy.
When I had my first child at 21, my future became more than an idea - it became a responsibility. I understood the pressure so many families face, and it ignited my drive to fight for childcare that doesn't financially cripple parents, schools that are not just adequate, but excellent and offer every child the opportunity to thrive, and an economy that works for all of us - not just a select few.
Some may want to focus on my age, but my life has been a lesson in leadership. I've managed my family's budget, navigated tough choices and have been the person my friends, colleagues, and supervisors relied on to solve problems. For years, Wisconsin's commitment to public education has been strained by the significant expansion of private school voucher programs, which redirect public tax dollars to private institutions. This shift in funding has coincided with measurable challenges for our public schools: a widespread teacher shortage, concerning declines in statewide proficiency rates, and persistent pressure on local property taxes.

For families all across Wisconsin, the crushing cost of childcare is more than a budget line item - it's a barrier to careers and financial stability. Parents, especially mothers, are being forced to scale back their professional ambitions or leave the workforce entirely.

2. Stabilize Childcare Providers: Create and fund a state level "Child Care Counts" stabilization grant program to help centers cover operational and keep their doors open without passing exorbitant fees to parents.
3. Incentivize Employer Partnerships: Establish state tax credits for businesses that invest in on-site childcare, contribute to their employees' childcare costs, or partner with local providers to reserve slots.
4. Invest in Childcare Infrastructure: Launch a grant program to help communities build, renovate, or expand childcare facilities, focusing on "childcare deserts" where access is severely limited.

2. Create a Prescription Drug Affordability Board: Establish a state board with the authority to review, and set limits on prices of high-cost medications, directly lowering out-of-pocket expenses for chronic and life-saving drugs
3. Invest in Rural Healthcare Stability: Direct state funding, and grants to establish rural emergency hospitals, expand telehealth services, and create loan forgiveness programs for medical professionals who commit to serving in underserved areas.
4. Enforce Hospital Price Transparency: Strengthen state laws to ensure all hospitals clearly disclose the actual prices of procedures to make informed choices, and increasing market competition to drive down costs.

This instability steams from a critical policy failure: Wisconsin's refusal to accept the full federal funding to expand Medicaid, which has deprived our state of billions in healthcare infrastructure, and patient coverage.

Environment
For too long, irresponsible corporations have polluted our environment-a key part of our Wisconsin heritage. Now we the consequences. In Onedia County and beyond, the DNR has confirmed that irresponsible paper companies are the reason for PFAS level in private wells that are thousands of times higher than federal safety standards. Families can't drink their water. "Do Not Eat" signs are up for deer and fish. Our working forests-the hunters and loggers who depend on them are facing uncertainty about their futures as contamination spreads.

1. Continuing Funding PFAS Clean Up: For over 2 years this fund has been the subject of political games, endangering tens of thousands of Wisconsinites by having unclean water and poisoned game meat. With the recent passing of the cleanup fund we still need to monitor any ongoing PFAS reports and ensure the full and complete cleanup of PFAS contamination.
2. Protect Our Hunting and Fishing Heritage: We should expand wildlife testing and issuing clear consumption advisories - because no one should wonder if the deer or fish they bring home is safe to eat. We need to pass stronger regulations on wake boats due to the immense negative impact they have not only on the fish habitats and the safety risks they pose to other boaters.

Safeguard Wisconsin Forests and Outdoor Economy: By expanding funding for the DNR we can ensure the safety and proper maintenance of our environment, so our 12-billion-dollar outdoor economy can continue to grow our rural economies. 4. Hold Irresponsible Companies Accountable: Make the corporations that used these chemicals pay for cleanup, not the families and workers who inherited the mess.
